GEFCC’s Big Move!
We have exciting news to share! For some time now, we have been planning to relocate some of our Elgin Health Centers to better, more centrally-located facilities – The Big Move.
Earlier this year, GEFCC began renovating the vacant building across the street from our current Summit Health Center – 373 Summit Street in Elgin. This new Health Center will replace GEFCC’s current Summit and Slade Health Centers and house 22 exam rooms and several GEFCC departments. It is expected that renovations will be completed in May and the NEW Summit Health Center, at 373 Summit Street in Elgin, will be open to our patients on Monday, May 21st, 2018.
With this exciting opening of our new Summit Health Center comes a few other changes to our other Elgin locations – the closing and relocation of GEFCC’s current Slade Health Center and Summit Health Center. Slade Health Center, presently located at 901 Center Street in the old Sherman Hospital, and Summit Health Center at 370 Summit Street, will both officially close as of Friday, May 18th, 2018. All patients from these two locations will be receiving care at the new Summit Health Center at 373 Summit Street beginning Monday, May 21st, 2018.
The new Summit Health Center will have the same hours of services that GEFCC currently offers, as well as the same practitioners patients know and love, the same quality and level of care that Greater Elgin Family Care Center is known for, and some additional perks including a brand new, state-of-the-art building, roomy parking lots and walking proximity to GEFCC’s Seneca Health Center and our Dental Clinic.
We are very excited for this move and can’t wait for our patients to see our new Summit Health Center at 373 Summit Street. We’ll be planning a Grand Opening and Open House this coming summer – so stay tuned!
